Prunus xsubhirtella 'Autumnalis Rosea'

Le cerisier ornemental japonais 'Autumnalis Rosea' (en latin : Prunus subhirtella 'Autumnalis Rosea') est un petit cerisier ornemental. L'arbre produit des fleurs rose pâle de novembre à mars. Plus l'hiver est long, plus la floraison est longue. Cet arbre à fleurs fleurit lorsque l'arbre n'a pas de feuilles. C'est un arbuste densément ramifié mais généralement greffé sur le tronc. Il forme une large couronne en forme de vase avec des branches saillantes et légèrement en surplomb. Les branches sont inclinées au niveau du tronc et la couronne a une forme de vase assez large. Les pousses sont vert bronze au printemps et deviennent jaune orangé en automne. En été apparaissent les petites drupes, très appréciées des oiseaux. Peut se tenir en bordure, son feuillage léger laisse passer beaucoup de lumière.
